Us For a Buffet Style Dinner Saturday Night All EFTA Clubs are Invited to a
Weekend of Digging and Fun.
Please Register By September 16th
The weekend itinerary as follows:
SATURDAY
October 8th:
A. Arrival and
sign up** at Walworth Quarry:
7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
**Please for ALL THOSE attending:
You MUST bring your current, up-to-date club membership card. NO CURRENT CARD
You will be able to join the Wayne County Gem and Mineral Club by paying their
dues and be issued a club membership card.
B. Mandatory
Safety meeting! – 7:45
am Sharp
NO ONE CAN MISS THIS! If you
miss the Safety meeting NO ENTRANCE TO QUARRY!
We also will need volunteers for the Safety team. Please see the
safety Field coordinator
** You are allowed to drive your vehicles into the quarry. **
If you plan on using any power tools i.e. Saws, you must keep all other
diggers outside a 30-foot radius for safety. Dolomite has asked us to use this
rule. If anyone does not follow this, power tools will no longer be allowed. And
you will be asked to leave.
C. Collecting hours – from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. SHARP
***For those that are leaving early, you must sign out where you had
signed in.***
D. Drive
to Alexandra’s Restaurant:
927 Victor Road, Macedon. 315-986-4724
Leaving the Quarry make a left go straight across Atlantic Ave. (rt.286) onto
Canandaigua Rd.
Follow Canandaigua rd to Rt. 31F (Macedon Center Rd) Approximately 10 miles.
Keep going straight passing rt 31f. and passing 31. Make right turn at next
intersection right after rt. 31 onto Victor Rd. Alexandra’s will be your right
side approximately 1 mile.
E. Judging For Best in Fluorites: 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Judging and the awards of the “BEST in Fluorites” found during the collecting hours on Saturday. There are 3 categories 1#. THREE LARGEST SINGLE FLUORITE CRYSTALS (out of matrix) #2. THREE BEST FLUORITE MATRIX SPECIMENS. 3# THREE BEST OTHER CRYSTALS OR SPECIMENS. We encourage everyone that collected to participate for there will be awards.
F. Social Hour/ Swap: 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. – Good old fashion swap, sell and social hour; so please bring and limit to THREE flats of your “goodies”. Being held at Alexandra’s Restaurant, Macedon. Cash Bar will be open.
G. Awards 5:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. –Held At Alexandra’s Restaurant, Macedon.

Buffet Style Dinner from 5:15 p.m. Till.
Dinner Menu:
Chicken, Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Pulled Pork BBQ, Salt Potatoes, Baked Ziti,
Green Salad w/ different dressings available, Baked Beans, Veggie Tray, Mac.
Salad, Rolls & Butter, Coffee, Tea, and Soda, Ice Cream
***BEER AND MIXED DRINKS WILL BE AVAILABLE, HOWEVER WILL BE ON A “CASH
BAR TYPE BASIS” Thank you.
I. 9:00 p.m. – “GOOD NIGHT – SEE YOU ALL BACK AT THE QUARRY in the morning.”
SUNDAY – October 9th Itinerary:
A. Arrival and sign – in – 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. – Same rules apply today about membership cards and being late for the safety meeting!
B. Mandatory safety meeting – begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. If late, no entrance to the dig that day! We will also need volunteers for the Safety Team for the day.
C. Collecting Hours
8:00am till 1:00 pm
D. Old fashion swapping and
selling if you would like.
E. WE ALL NEED TO BE OUT AS A GROUP by 1:00 P.M. Please understand that we are guests and do not want to overstay our welcome. Therefore, for those of you that collect in the “tonnage” classification that you give yourself ample time to wrap up those “killer pieces and load them into your vehicle.
E. Drive Safely Home and we hope to see you next year.
For Those Rockhounds coming from out of town here are two good Hotels to stay at.
This Hotel is straight ahead of you when you get off the thruway at exit 43(Manchester)
Rates are for two Adults $70.00 plus Tax per night:

digging and the Dinner on Saturday
